Stephen Lewarne

Dr. Stephen Lewarne is a principal with Deloitte Consulting LLP in Economic Growth and Global Health. He is a specialist in applied, macro and health economics. He has worked in over 11 Central Banks on monetary stabilization. He was the chief economist for Deloitte’s main monetary and macroeconomic reconstruction efforts in Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He was adviser to the Philippines on pension reform and macro policy. He also has written extensively on Fragile States (Economic Governance in War Torn Economies: From the Marshall Plan to the War in Iraq [2005]). He authored the first book on Russian Offshore Oil, Soviet Oil: the Move Offshore (1987). He has published in economic journals as well on credit rationing and central banking. Dr. Lewarne holds a PhD in economics from Indiana University.
