Viral Thakker is a partner with the Consulting practice of Deloitte India. He leads the Strategy, Analytics and Mergers & Acquisitions offering based out of Mumbai. In his role, Viral focuses on strategic clients of the firm to bring multi-disciplinary solutions to support strategic initiatives such as business and digital strategies, enterprise transformations and operations improvement. He brings significant experience in consulting, including strategy and operations, operating model transformation and business advisory.
Viral specializes in Shared Services and Outsourcing Advisory and has led a number of large, global engagements in areas such as GBS strategy, IT Outsourcing, Shared Services/GBS Design and Implementation as well as GIC transformation (including robotics and cognitive automation) for large conglomerates in India, as well as multinationals in US, Europe, Africa and South East Asia. Viral has led hands-on implementation of these strategies on some of the largest and most complex assignments.
Prior to Deloitte, Viral had established the Shared Services and Outsourcing Advisory practice for KPMG in India, where he also served on the Board of Directors. Prior to that, Viral worked for Daimler-Benz Research and Technology, where he was engaged in transportation and mobility research, focusing on telematics based initiatives.
Viral serves on the Management Committee of the Chandaramji School in Mumbai, one of the oldest schools focused on education of girls.
