Doctoral Fellowships

Students at the dissertation level of study need academic and financial support. Faculty provide the academic support. Deloitte LLP (Deloitte), through its Doctoral Fellowship Program, provides financial support to oustanding doctoral students in accounting as they complete their coursework and dissertations. Up to ten students are selected to be Deloitte Fellows each year. Each Fellow receives a grant of $25,000, disbursed in four payments over two years, to help cover expenses during the final year of coursework and during the subsequent year of writing a dissertation.

Wildman Medal

Deloitte sponsors the American Accounting Association's (AAA's) annual Wildman Medal, which is awarded to an author, or co-authors, whose work is judged likely to make a highly significant contribution to the practice of public accounting. Offered since 1979, the award is named in honor of the late John R. Wildman, who was a partner in the firm, a professor of accounting at New York University and the first president of the American Association of Accounting Instructors, which later became the AAA. The Wildman Medal and its accompanying honorarium of $5,000 help recognize and support exceptional research that advances both the theory and practice of accounting.

American Taxation Association Teaching Innovation Award

Deloitte sponsors the American Taxation Association (ATA) Teaching Innovation Award program, a $5,000 annual award designed to encourage tax professors to develop new teaching methods that stimulate students' critical thinking skills and enhance the learning experience.
