Sourcing and procurement initiatives remain one of the most attractive ways to save cost in organizations today. Cost savings typically come quickly, the investments are low and the impact on the organization is small compared to many other types of initiatives.
Deloitte helps our clients to set up their sourcing organizations and to implement the new procurement models throughout the organization. However, we also support clients to actually perform sourcing activities by running the process to source various categories to achieve cost savings all the way up to contract signature. We work with both indirect and direct categories in a variety of industry segments. Apart from unit cost reductions, demand management, standardization of specifications and vendor concentration are often key themes in such projects. Normally, we deliver these projects on a value billing basis to share risk with our clients. The first step in performing a sourcing project is typically to do a Spend analysis.
Performing a Spend Analysis may take anywhere from 2 to 8 weeks, depending on the scope and complexity of the categories included in the scope. There are three main objectives with a Spend Analysis.
Deloitte has developed the Accelerated Spend Analysis together with Soliditet, which is the leading business and credit information provider in the Nordics. This offering is the same as our traditional Spend Analysis offering, but the project is performed together with Soliditet using their leading edge data analysis tools and information databases. There are several benefits with the Accelerated Spend Analysis:
Apart from this, the Accelerated Spend Analysis of course includes all components of a traditional Spend Analysis. Also, based on the preferences of the individual client it can be offered on a Value Billing basis.
