The interim guidance issued by the British Universities Finance Directors Group BUFDG on corporation tax will be invaluable in helping institutions find their way through the maze of direct tax compliance. Significant challenges remain, though, as Universities will have to quickly adapt their systems within a short timescale to meet auditors’ requests for information and tax compliance obligations for 2006/7 onwards.
