Countdown to 2020: A decade for a British renewable energy revolution
29 November 2010
The UK has signed up to a legally-binding European treaty requiring it to supply 15% of all primary energy from renewable sources by 2020. This is a huge task and the bulk of the burden will fall to the power generation sector, but heat and transport fuels will also have to make a quantum leap in capacities.
The Energy Institute, in association with Deloitte and renews, will be holding a seminar on Monday 29 November to discuss the challenges that lie ahead.
Roman Webber, UK Head – Renewable Energy, will provide an independent view of what is needed and forecast progress towards targets in all areas of primary energy in the light of current policies.
Confirmed speakers include:
Nick Goodall, CEO, Renewable Fuel Agency
Maria McCaffery, Chief Executive, Renewable UK
Clare Wenner, Head of Renewable Transport, Renewable Energy Association
