Cybersecurity in CanadaBNN interview with Adel Melek, global leader of information and technology risk |
The rise of criminal activity in cyberspace has become one of the fastest growing security threats to both organizations and citizens. Organizations today are not only at risk of being infiltrated from lone hackers; they are also facing threats from organized crime groups that have developed sophisticated hacking tools. With sophisticated malware, viruses and techniques becoming more mainstream, and attackers getting smarter, companies need to rethink the way they view cybercrime, and the steps they take to protect their data.
“No organization is immune from cyber threats,” says Adel Melek, Deloitte’s global leader of Information and Technology Risk. In an interview with Canada’s Business News Network (BNN), Melek discusses issues of cybersecurity, cyber warfare, and some recent high profile cases of hacker infiltration.
