Deloitte AuditDeloitte Audit is a business transformation process that will provide our practitioners with an enhanced ability to customise our statutory audit offering, tailored to clients’ specific business and industry circumstances. It enables our professionals to capitalise on global content and specialist networks to bring appropriate business insights to clients’ teams. This delivers a differentiated audit experience through professionals with an invigorated mind set and depth of industry expertise.
IT audit staff are in short supply and often a combination of specialist skills is required by in-house Internal Audit functions that are difficult to find in one or two people. Deloitte secondment services enables your Internal Audit Department to leverage off our pool of IT audit professionals, who have diverse, in-depth skills sets and who are highly competent, skilled and experienced and to capitalise on global content, established methodologies, tools and specialist networks. In addition we can implement formalised skills transfer to your in-house staff.
Mid-range IA departments require specialized Technology Assurance and Advisory and Data Analytics skills to perform more effective audits in terms of control frameworks such as COSO. Deloitte combines these skills in a service offering which covers key business cycles, General controls Reviews and select application controls using in-house tools to augment those of in-house internal audit functions.
Organisations using ICT service providers are largely dependent on those service providers to implement and sustain a well-designed and effective control environment. Conversely ICT service providers often find themselves being repeatedly audited by numerous auditors of their clients to assess their controls. Deloitte will perform an ISAE3402 review which provides an objective report expressing an opinion about the control environment of a service organisation on which multiple auditors can rely. This will be based on a standardised set of objectives, tested only once in a period which minimises business disruption and provides the ICT service provider’s clients with proactive assurance. Typically the controls tested are those that will have a direct impact on the risk of material misstatement in the clients’ financial account balances.
Clients considering leveraging Cloud Computing should consider Deloitte’s technology team which, as an independent party not allied to any single Cloud Service provider, has advised clients on how to pragmatically develop cloud-implementation roadmaps by analysing four core areas: the alignment of cloud benefits to strategy; business readiness; the maturity of cloud products and suppliers; and specific business and technology risks.
Promotional competitions are now closely regulated by the Consumer Protection Act No. 68 of 2008 (CPA) which requires that an independent auditor, accountant or attorney certifies the conducting of the competition. Penalties for contravention of the requirements of the CPA can be up to 10% of a company’s turnover. Deloitte has extensive pragmatic experience in technology driven competitions and voting and provide clients with proactive advice to pre-empt and manage risk to: Safeguard their reputation, promote public confidence and facilitate compliance with the CPA. Our Competition & Voting Verification offering includes solutions for: Promotional and other competitions, public voting, awards and elections.
