The Captive Growth Fund uses a tried and tested approach that combines investment banking, strategy consulting and corporate finance techniques. The process is initiated through an in-depth analysis of the organisations current capabilities. This is followed by a market intelligence assessment, a needs analysis, and a value chain analysis to help unearth target acquisitions aligned to the organisation’s strategic imperatives.
Potential targets are then subjected to a series of stress tests via increasingly difficult panel reviews and finally the Investment Committee. One of Deloitte’s critical capabilities is Deal Implementation which is key in ensuring that the process is successfully executed. Post acquisition management and integration or final exit is carefully thought through and planned.
Although the Fund Manager will have a contract to manage the Fund, the Client remains in control at all times via a veto. A portfolio approach to the defined strategy is usually implemented, allowing for a portfolio exit upon Fund termination, if required.
