Whilst the outlook for companies has improved over the past few years, the impact of the economic crisis and the subsequent recession has had a lasting impact on both employers and employees. While traditional factors such as remuneration and work life balance remain important, data from the Best Company to Work for Survey shows a definite shift in what employees really value. Factors such as confidence in the organisation, operational effectiveness and job satisfaction are coming to the fore as important indicators of employee motivation and commitment.
Understanding this shift is imperative as misaligned initiatives aimed at improving or enhancing employee satisfaction may not yield the anticipated outcomes, highlighting the importance of long term strategies that are flexible, agile and focused around responding to key employee needs.
While some may argue that power has shifted back to employers in these difficult times, future sustainability will be dependent on a motivated, productive and engaged workforce. Talent and employee satisfaction strategies therefore remain highly relevant and key to any organisation wishing to stay competitive and attractive to top talent in the future.
Deloitte invites you to attend one of our road shows to understand how participation in the Deloitte Best Company to Work For Survey can assist in gaining insight into how your employees currently feel, equipping you with key information to build and motivate a highly productive workforce now and in the future.
The Best Company to Work For Survey has been conducted annually by Deloitte since 2000 during which time it has emerged as the pre-eminent survey of its kind.
The survey aims to identify and celebrate the best companies to work for across the Southern African region as rated by their most important stakeholder group, namely, their employees.
Apart from the benefits of Industry, Size Category and Regional benchmarking, each participating organisation gains invaluable insights into the reported employment priorities and experiences of its employees which can serve as the basis to optimise their overall employment experience and thereby enhance the organisation’s performance and status as a recognised employer of choice.
The annual Deloitte Best Company to Work For conference is held to encourage information sharing and facilitate best practice learning from top performing companies in the 2012 Deloitte Best Company to Work For survey. The conference will be held on 15th November at The Ballroom, Monte Casino. Cnr William Nicol Drive and Witkoppen Road, Fourways, Sandton.
