Deloitte Innovation is a globally unique practice, focused on realising sustainable quantum growth for clients.
By using a blend of both art and science in the disciplines of corporate strategy, corporate finance, private equity and investment banking, the team has been involved in the creation, incubation and commercialisation of more than 50 businesses, generating over US$5bn in profitable revenue for clients.
The South African practice is the global centre of competence for innovation within Deloitte Consulting. Our approach is unique in that we manage the entire innovation process, from initial concept and development through to implementation and commercialisation. This unique approach to innovation and growth is built on four pillars:
- Learning from the Future: If they are to thrive, companies need to understand and learn from the future. We work with FutureWorld™ (the global business and technology think tank) to help clients plan their ideal future.
- Innovation and growth programmes: We help CEOs and their executive teams to articulate their growth ambitions and design the delivery organisation. We work with the CEO and team to fast‑track the development of high‑value opportunities into significant new sources of revenue and profitability.
- Corporate venturing: We help clients realise tactical growth opportunities, supporting them in deciding on an optimal portfolio, what markets to invest in and which companies to acquire. We also support the subsequent work to bring the opportunities to market.
- Seeker Funds. The Seeker Fund is tailored to meet the needs of organisations that prefer an acquisitive growth strategy. Deloitte Innovation manages a captive fund (which is 100% owned by the client) and provides services covering all aspects of acquisitive growth, from pre-deal due diligence to post-deal integration.
