Mike Solomon started his career at Anglovaal after training as a mining engineer. He served on the Government team negotiating the new mineral legislation and subsequently gave Wesizwe Platinum, of which he became CEO in 2004, a strong BEE orientation with empowerment partner, the Bakubung-Ba-Ratheo, being given an initial 51% stake.
