Portfolio Mix and Project Pipeline
Deloitte can conduct an assessment to determine the projects that should be prioritised for further work to ensure Mineral Resource and Reserve Replacement taking into account price projections and market demand / supply factors
The Project Pipeline for mineral assets consists of three phases:
- Phase I – Exploration / Assessment
At this stage activities are largely focused on exploration drilling and determining the potential economic viability of the project. - Phase II – Evaluation / Analysis
The results of the drilling activity have yielded Mineral Resources classified according to an internationally recognised mineral reporting code. Further studies, usually a Pre-Feasibility study followed by a Feasibility Study, are undertaken to confirm the potential to economically extract the identified Mineral Resources. - Phase III – Design / Construction
The design of the appropriate infrastructure and the development of appropriate mining engineering plans commence. On completion, a project execution plan is devised followed by the construction of the relevant infrastructure.
