Research has indicated that umbrella funds have grown over the last couple of years. If we look at advantages umbrella funds are bringing to the industry, it is clear that umbrella funds are here to stay.
One of the key changes emerging from the economic slowdown in South Africa is a renewed focus on cost containment and governance. This includes a trend towards companies terminating their standalone funds in favour of umbrella schemes.
