The Deloitte Women in Leadership (DWIL) group is a governance body that monitors the firm’s strategies and policies relating to women in the workplace. It acts as an advisory body to the Transformation Board on matters of gender equality in the firm.

The advancement of women in the workplace is supported by the firm’s leaders. “In the short to medium term our goal is to achieve critical mass, both in terms of race and gender, in all key areas,” says chief executive Lwazi Bam. “It is therefore vital that there are inspiring women at the most senior levels within the firm to provide the aspiration, motivation and mentorship to our younger women of all races coming through Deloitte.”
The WIL committee comprises of female partners/directors/associates from all the firm’s service lines and regions and together, they represent all the females in Deloitte. The current chairperson of DWIL is Anthea Scholtz, a director in Tax, Cape Town.
