In addition to his demanding job, Pieter is a South African para-athlete. Sport has always been key in Pieter’s life. As part of his rehabilitation process, he started off with wheelchair rugby in which he represented South Africa. His lifelong passion has always been triathlon and Pieter worked towards participating in Triathlons; now as a quadriplegic. He became one of the first quadriplegics ever to do an Olympic distance triathlon in 2010. Pieter’s dream has always been to be an Olympic athlete – that dream was realized in August 2012 when he participated in the London Paralympic Games. We all stood together as a firm, in support of Pieter as he participated in the London 2012 Paralympics. Proud, amazed and simply inspired, we all took note of the qualities that Pieter represents. Pieter is a true ambassador for Deloitte. He embodies and is a true reflection of the values we as a firm uphold. Join us as we support Pieter in his journey of inspiration as he attempts to achieve yet another remarkable feat. |
