Every year, in a variety of ways, thousands of Deloitte people across the Middle East and globally contribute to the community around them. At the heart of Deloitte's community involvement is a genuine desire to drive change and improvement where the needs are most critical in our communities. As a professional services organization, the most effective way for us to make an impact in the community is to leverage the knowledge and experience of our people. Whether rolling up our sleeves and getting involved in social activities or welcoming students into our offices to inspire them, our people in the Middle East make a point of making a difference to the lives of people around them.
Learn more about some of the ways we make a difference in the Middle East:
IMPACT Day is a vehicle used by Deloitte people to reinforce their collective commitment to their communities. This commitment is a manifestation of Deloitte's shared values – especially that of “Commitment to each other”. For some Middle East member firms one single IMPACT Day is held each year, while for others a series of IMPACT Day events take place throughout the year. From running the Terry Fox Marathon to raise money for people living with cancer, to taking disabled children for a day out painting in the park, Deloitte people engaged in a diverse range of community-based initiatives throughout the year. IMPACT Day and other year-round community-focused initiatives provide ways to engage employees to make a positive impact on their communities in addition to developing themselves, such as through team building, developing leadership skills, or achieving personal goals. The uniting theme for IMPACT Day is bringing positive change for individuals and to our communities.
Deloitte & Touche Middle East has an ongoing relationship with non-governmental organization INJAZ (ME chapter of junior achievement), supporting its aim of inspiring and educating youth, while enhancing their opportunities in life.
INJAZ has a presence in various locations across the Middle East and offers a range of programs that aim at training middle and secondary students in “personal economics” and “success skills” in addition to providing job shadowing thus allowing students to enjoy real life experiences of personal life planning, global business ethics, leadership and more. Deloitte's support for INJAZ is through delivering skills-based training and leadership workshops, and volunteering with students to renovate school grounds.
