Deloitte comments on the launch of the Government’s Cyber-security Information Sharing Partnership (CISP)
27 March 2013
James Nunn-Price, UK lead cyber security partner at Deloitte, said:
“Information is a vital commodity when it comes to protecting against and reacting to cyber threats. The Government’s CISP allows companies to share valuable security information without commercial risk, establishing a level of trust where previously it might not have existed. No one wants to risk their commercial advantage, but when businesses share information about cyber issues, such as new threats and how they materialise, it can have clear mutual benefits.
“The CISP will also allow businesses to benefit from the knowledge gathered by government sources. The Government has been sharing information on cyber threats with companies carrying out work in vital industries like defence and infrastructure for some time. Now this valuable resource can be spread to other businesses and benefit UK plc. more widely.”
