About the Senior Partner and Chief Executive role

The role within our leadership and governance

David Sproul, the Senior Partner and Chief Executive, has full executive authority for the management of Deloitte in the UK. The Senior Partner and Chief Executive is nominated by the Board of Partners and elected by the partners for a four year term of office. David Sproul began his first term as Senior Partner on 1 June, 2011.

The responsibilities of the Senior Partner and Chief Executive fall under five principal headings:

  • the business of Deloitte, including the development and management of professional services at the highest level of quality, and compliance with all regulations;
  • the development of policies and strategic direction;
  • financial performance;
  • partners, including the development and management of our talent goals;
  • international, representing the UK firm within Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited.
