  • Significant Growth in 4th Quarter Middle Market Deal Value:  The 4th quarter of 2009 showed continued growth from the low point in middle market (less than $250 mm in deal value) deal activity.
  • Middle Market Deal Multiples Increase During the 4th Quarter:  While the 4th quarter of 2009 showed strong growth in volume and overall value, it also had strong growth in the average Enterprise Value (EV)/EBITDA multiple.
  • Private Equity Quite Active During the 4th Quarter in the Middle Market: The 4th quarter of 2009 saw a 12.4 percent increase in private equity activity in middle market deals as compared to the 3rd quarter of 2009.
