  • A Mountain of Dry Powder - Private equity funds are still perched upon enormous heaps of capital despite an uptick in M&A activity.
  • Technology Continues to Lead the Pack - Through the first half of 2010, middle market M&A activity by sector has remained largely in line with 2009 levels. Looking forward, however, economic and regulatory dynamics could fuel heightened activity in certain sectors.
  • Average Deal Size on the Rise - While the number of deals remained relatively stagnant, the average size of disclosed middle market transactions increased by 36% and 21% during H2’09 and H1’10, respectively.
