Profile:
Richard Sukkar is a Managing Director of Deloitte Corporate Finance LLC and is based in the Mid-America region. Prior to joining Deloitte Corporate Finance, Richard spent 14 years at JPMorgan and predecessor firms. Richard served 10 years as a merger and acquisition generalist for JPMorgan, leading transactions across a wide range of industries. During his last 4 years, Richard advised on some of the most visible transactions in the retail sector.
Experience:
- Over 60 corporate finance transactions, including over 40 M&A transactions
- Over $10 billion of M&A volume, over $3 billion of equity capital raised, and over $15 billion of debt capital raised
- Broad range of transaction experience includes: sell side (emphasis), buyside, cash and stock, public / private, leveraged buyout, leveraged recap, hostile defense, fairness opinion, joint venture, and “staple” capital structures
Select Transaction Experience:
- $1 billion sale of CSK Auto Corp. to O’Reilly Automotive (July 2008). 93% stock consideration; implemented poison pill during process
- $490 million recapitalization (November 2006) of GNC Corp. and its subsequently announced sale (February 2007) to Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and Ares Management LLC for $1.65 on behalf of Apollo Partners
- $1.2 billion sale of Lord & Taylor to NRDC Equity Partners on behalf of Macy’s, Inc. (August 2006)
- Advised Millennium Chemicals Inc. on its $2.4 billion merger with Lyondell Chemicals (December 2004)
- Advised Service Corp. International on its $1.2 billion acquisition of Alderwoods Group
