The British Virgin Islands firm was founded in 1978, and in1985 became part of Touche Ross International. In 1990 it became a member firm of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu and in 1995 adopted the name “Deloitte & Touche”. In 1995, Mark Chapman moved from the Cayman Islands office of Deloitte & Touche and was admitted as partner responsible for audit, accounting and consulting services. In 1997 he became Managing Partner. In 2001, Ron Potter was admitted as a partner of Deloitte & Touche BVI and undertook the responsibilities for Assurance services. In 2011 Richard White, Carlene Romney and Chad Maduro were promoted to directors of the firm.
In 2013, the British Virgin Islands and US Virgin Islands offices merged with Deloitte Bermuda, bringing enhanced services to clients and greater access to Deloitte professionals who provide insights and solutions to complex business challenges in an ever-increasing borderless global marketplace. The merger coincided with the retirement of BVI/USVI Managing Partner Mark Chapman. Directors Carlene Romney and Richard White succeeded Chapman and assumed leadership of the operations in the BVI and USVI offices. The practices continue to operate as Deloitte & Touche Services Limited from current locations in Road Town, British Virgin Islands and St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Combined with our Bermuda practice, over 170 professionals deliver audit, tax, consulting and financial advisory services to clients.
