Meet Ed Powers
National Managing Principal
Ed is the National market offering leader for Deloitte's Cyber Risk Services practice, which helps clients to be secure, vigilant and resilient in the face of an ever increasing array of cyber threats and vulnerabilities. He specializes in helping global organizations develop and improve their IT risk management and information security programs, including program organization, governance and regulatory compliance. Since 2005 he has focused on the impact of federal regulation on financial institutions and has helped many of the world's leading banks, payments companies and diversified financial institutions prepare for and manage oversight of their programs by federal regulatory agencies.
Ed is chairman of Deloitte's Advisory Investment Oversight Committee and serves on the Executive Committees for Advisory Services, Financial Services and Banking & Securities, as well as the Committee for Strategic Business Acquisitions.
He has authored several articles and has appeared regularly in the media on the topics of risk management, regulation, information security and cyber crime.
He is formerly a faculty member in the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, where he taught undergraduate and MBA courses in IT Management and Information Security. His specialties include banking & securities, federal regulation, enterprise risk management, operational risk management, IT risk management, information security and cyber crime.
