Deloitte Foundation’s 18th Annual Tax Faculty Symposium Brings Together Thought Leaders from Academia and the Tax Profession
Specialists examine latest tax professional issues at Deloitte University
WILTON, Conn., May 29, 2013 —The Deloitte Foundation’s 18th Annual Tax Faculty Symposium, held at Deloitte University, continues the Foundation’s long-time support for tax education. The two-day event connected educators from select colleges and universities across the country with Deloitte Tax specialists, enabling them to share insights and perspectives on the changing business tax marketplace, including trends in tax legislation, regulation, learning and tax technology, among other timely topics.
“By sharing our practice experiences and perspectives with tax educators, we hope to enrich the academic experience for future business leaders – whether they pursue tax-centric or tax-adjacent careers,” said Carl Allegretti, chairman and chief executive officer, Deloitte Tax LLP.
Shaun Budnik, partner, Deloitte LLP and president of the Deloitte Foundation, added, “Our annual Tax Faculty Symposium allows professors to gain first-hand knowledge from Deloitte Tax professionals of the challenges and opportunities facing the profession today. It also gives them a unique perspective on the future trends that may inform their in-class curriculum. At the Deloitte Foundation, we are committed to providing educators with the tools necessary to develop the next generation of tax and business talent and we are confident this symposium plays an important role in doing that.”
