Deloitte Foundation’s 19th Annual Tax Faculty Symposium Connects Thought Leaders from Academia and the Tax Profession

Tax academics and professionals come together at Deloitte University

Wilton, Conn., June 16, 2014 —The Deloitte Foundation’s 19th Annual Tax Faculty Symposium, held at Deloitte University, continues the Foundation’s long-time support for tax education. The two-day event connected educators from select colleges and universities across the country with Deloitte Tax specialists, enabling them to share insights and perspectives on the changing business tax marketplace, including trends, regulation, learning and technology, among other timely topics.

“There is a significant transformation underway in the tax marketplace. Today’s professionals require new skills beyond traditional planning, reporting and risk management,” said Carl Allegretti, chairman and chief executive officer, Deloitte Tax LLP. “Given the changing landscape, professionals must combine tax expertise with new technology to deliver data-driven insights and solutions.”

“The Tax Faculty Symposium presents a unique networking opportunity for professors to connect with Deloitte Tax professionals,” said Carol Lindstrom, president, Deloitte Foundation. “It enables the participants to candidly discuss the challenges facing the profession today and to identify the future trends that may impact it tomorrow. One of the goals of the Deloitte Foundation is to provide educators with the tools necessary to develop the next generation of tax and business talent and this symposium plays an important role in doing that.”
