Deloitte Ranked a Top Ten Employer for Working Mothers by Working Mother MagazineFor the 16th Consecutive Year, Deloitte Honored for Unwavering Dedication to Working Mothers’ Needs |
NEW YORK, September 22, 2009 – Deloitte announced today that it has earned a top ten ranking on Working Mother’s 2009 list of “100 Best Companies for Working Mothers,” a pool of organizations earning high scores in such categories as flexibility, childcare, time off and leaves, and culture. This is the 16th consecutive year the magazine has named Deloitte to its “100 Best Companies” list.
The Working Mother recognition honors Deloitte’s innovations in career-life management, including its Mass Career Customization model, which allows workers to "dial up” or “dial down" to fit various life stages. Most recently, the organization launched a new sabbatical program in an effort to expand career-life choices available to its people.
“Deloitte’s top ten ranking on the Working Mother list marks our unwavering commitment to helping working parents build rewarding and sustainable careers at Deloitte,” said Barbara Adachi, leader of Deloitte’s Initiative for the Retention and Advancement of Women. “Providing our people — women and men of all backgrounds — with the resources to achieve career-life fit has helped us increase morale, productivity, and retention.”
“The Working Mother 100 Best Companies stand head and shoulders above the rest,” said Carol Evans, CEO, Working Mother Media. “The 100 Best provide leadership where and when we need it most, furnishing a framework of support for working families during good times and bad. If all companies adopted these best practices, more families could weather the economic storm.”
