Hiromi has been designated as the Japan leader for the global implementation of the foreign account tax compliance (FATCA) provisions. She serves as the primary contact in Japan and is responsible for execution of FATCA projects in Japan.
Hiromi is a Deloitte Tax partner based in Tokyo on an international assignment and serves as the Tax Leader of the U.S. Desk and Qualified Intermediary (QI) / FATCA practice of Tohmatsu Tax Co. She has over 20 years of experience in serving multinational Japanese financial institutions and companies investing and/or doing business in the U.S.
Hiromi has assisted over 100 Japanese securities companies in obtaining and maintaining their QI status since the inception of the QI regime. She has written and presented extensively on the QI and FATCA provisions in Japanese, including articles published in prestigious Japanese financial magazines and newspapers.
