Michael is a director in Deloitte & Touche LLP’s Capital Markets Technology Services practice. His overall responsibility includes providing insight on clearing operations, operational turnarounds and revitalizations, operational controls, operations strategy, merger integrations, systems conversions, business process optimization, sourcing strategy, vendor selection and supplier governance.
Michael has served as the engagement leader for broker-dealers converting to self-clearing operations and moving retail brokerage operations offshore. In addition, he has led engagements for global financial services firms implementing cost basis reporting.
Before joining Deloitte & Touche LLP, Michael held positions as Chief Operations Officer and Chief Administrative Officer at the third largest retail broker/dealer in the United States. He has extensive experience in securities processing, tax information reporting and while at Wachovia he led the conversion to a new broker/dealer cost basis system. His integration leadership experience includes consolidation of back office operations. He is also experienced in leading cross-border initiatives including his pioneering role in off-shoring retail brokerage operations.
