- Ways & Means subcommittee mulls future of tax extenders – Members of the House Ways and Means Select Revenue Measures Subcommittee used a recent hearing to address the merits of extending, modifying, or eliminating dozens of expired or expiring temporary tax provisions.
- Reid targets S corps to bankroll student loan interest rate relief – Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., introduced legislation that would pay for an extension of the current-law reduced interest rate on federal direct student loans by subjecting certain S corporation income to employment taxation.
