On January 2, 2013, President Barack Obama signed into law the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 (“ATRA”). The new law contains termination date extensions through December 31, 2013 applicable to the Work Opportunity Tax Credit, Empowerment Zone Incentives, the Indian Employment Tax Credit, and Indian Reservation Accelerated Depreciation. In the attached Tax Alert we summarize these and other related ATRA law changes.
