Abstract Starting in 2010 a large pharmaceutical company partnered with Deloitte to enable planning, budgeting and forecasting processes using Oracle EPM version 11. Together, Deloitte and the client implemented a series of Planning, Reporting and integration solutions to deliver a consolidated global plan and detailed local planning at a SKU and cost center level. The combined solution contains over 10 Hyperion planning applications (divided up regionally and by business unit needs) and two Essbase ASO reporting solutions. The solution enables the finance planning processes for up to 1000 users globally. This session will provide an overview of the program, lessons learned and leading practices that were applied.

Electronic Arts’ Secrets to Success in a Global Oracle E-Business Suite Implementation

Abstract This session presents a case study on how Electronic Arts (a US$4 billion gaming company) implemented standard business processes and achieved significant business efficiencies while consolidating its four regional ERP applications into a single global Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.3 instance. The presentation covers the approach, best practices, and lessons learned in a two-year implementation. It focuses on the ways in which the number of Oracle customizations was reduced from several thousands to fewer than 200 with industry-standard processes and vanilla functionality in Oracle E-Business Suite. It also discusses the deployment options the team considered (multiple waves versus “global big bang”) and the pros and cons of the chosen approach.
