Meet Dave Hanley
Principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP
Dave Hanley is one of the leaders of Deloitte Digital’s social offering. In his career as a web marketer, he has specialized in creating and marketing viral social applications. Dave joined Deloitte Digital in October 2013 with the acquisition of Banyan Branch, a leading social media agency based in Seattle, where he was a co-founder.
Prior to Banyan Branch, Dave oversaw marketing and advertising at Shelfari (acquired by Amazon), a social network for book readers. He helped Shelfari grow from 8,000 members to over 2 million in a little over a year using only viral and social media marketing. Dave also served as Director of Product Management at RealNetworks, where he oversaw the launches of Rhapsody.com and Rhapsody’s web services program.
Dave spent his ﬁve years before business school working in economic development with NGOs and banks in Asia and Latin America that were implementing and assessing microcredit programs, including time as a Fulbright scholar with Grameen Bank in Bangladesh. In 2012, Dave received a five-year appointment to be a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, where he advises on various programs.
Dave has an MBA from Stanford University and a BA and MA in Public Policy from Brigham Young University.
