Meet Karen Ramsey
Principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP
Karen is a principal in the Life Sciences practice in Deloitte Consulting LLP’s Boston office. Her 20+ years of consulting experience encompasses broad enterprise transformation activities within the Life Sciences industry. Karen’s principle areas of experience include technology-enabled business transformation in Finance and R&D, shared services strategy, operating model design and governance and performance measurement and improvement. Karen has experience serving clients across the industry. Chief among her current client service roles is that of Americas Lead Client Service Partner (LCSP) to Sanofi, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, where Karen leads a cross-functional team of client service professionals to help the client in its efforts to create sustainable value. Having served in national and global Lead Consulting Partner (LCP) and LCSP roles throughout her career at Deloitte, Karen is passionate about how we serve and create impact for our clients.
In addition to her client service roles, Karen leads Deloitte’s Life Sciences practice in New England and leads our Life Sciences Finance practice nationally. Finally, as Talent Leader for the Life Sciences practice, Karen oversees recruiting, deployment, learning & development and resource development for the Life Sciences practice nationally.
Karen is actively involved in Deloitte's Women's Initiative, designing and leading programs to advance and retain female professionals. A mother of two teenagers, Karen in keenly aware of the challenges inherent in balancing an intense career with an active family life and particularly enjoys her role counseling both men and women on work/life strategies. Karen is a Fellow of the International Women’s Forum (IWF) and given her visibility as a senior leader and female role model at Deloitte, has spoken on the topic of leadership and career advancement at leading business school conferences at Harvard and MIT.
Karen lives in Sudbury, MA with her husband Giles Troughton and their two boys, Colin and Matthew. Philanthropic interests include education, leadership development and autism awareness. Karen served as a founding board member and treasurer of Shackleton Schools, Inc. and is currently on the board of Camp Dudley YMCA, the oldest continuously running summer camp in the United States (www.campdudley.org).
