Meet David Carney
Principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP
A principal with Deloitte Consulting LLP, David Carney has always been a leader. Today he leads our Merger and Acquisition (M&A) Integration Services line. In that role, he advises senior executive teams and boards of directors, typically of large, global clients, on issues of improving shareholder returns through M&A strategy, target screening, operational due diligence, integration and divestitures. He also has led many consulting projects involving some of the world’s largest, most complex tech and telecommunications integrations and divestiture carve outs.
On post-merger integration and divestiture projects, David works closely with executive and integration teams to help them plan integration strategies, front-load and expand synergies, develop new customer-facing strategies and integrated operations, design organizations and work force strategies, plan for an issue-free customer and employee “Day 1” and manage the cross-functional integration program.
In addition, David oversees the development of Deloitte’s M&A methodology, training and eminence programs.

Proudest Career Moments
The proudest moments of my career have been when we help divestiture clients achieve a flawlessly executed “Day 1.” On Day 1, everything changes: organizations, business processes, IT systems and policies. Thousands of interdependent activities have to go right simultaneously. And when they do, our client wins and we celebrate too.
