Meet Barbara Adachi
National Managing Director, Human Capital, Deloitte Consulting LLP
Barbara is the national managing director for U.S. Human Capital (HC) Consulting. In this role, she is responsible for overall strategy, P&L/financial performance and operations, talent recruitment and development, and delivery of human capital consulting services across the U.S. Barbara joined Deloitte in 1990 to start the Bay Area HC practice in San Francisco and specializes in total rewards, health benefits strategy and plan design.
In addition to her role as the U.S. HC leader, Barbara has also held the role of National Managing Principal for the U.S. Women’s Initiative (WIN) for the last four years, and serves on the board of Deloitte Consulting LLP. Barbara has been named one of the “100 Most Influential Women in Business” by San Francisco Business Times from 2003 through 2011, and was also named “Women Worth Watching in 2009” by Profiles in Diversity Magazine. In 2009 Barbara received the Asian Women in Business Leadership Award.
Barbara also serves on the boards of Girl Scouts of the USA, American Heart Association, Forbes Executive Women, Professional Business Women of California Advisory Council, Santa Clara University HR Leadership Advisory Board and Anthem Blue Cross of California Consumer Relations Committee.
