Meet Neal Baumann

Principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP, Global Insurance Practice and U.S. Insurance Consulting Practice Leader

Neal leads Deloitte’s Global Insurance practice and is the U.S. Insurance Consulting practice leader responsible for service delivery in the areas of strategy, operations, human capital, technology and actuarial risk services.  Prior to assuming his global and U.S. leadership roles, he led Deloitte’s Life & Annuity Insurance Consulting practice.  He has spent more than 20 years advising financial services and insurance company clients on their corporate and competitive strategies. For example, Neal has advised clients on their short and long term visions and strategic plans, sales and distribution strategy, product strategy and operations, operational transformation, strategic cost management, human capital strategy, merger integration and technology strategy.

Neal’s financial services industry career has seen him act in internal, advisory and consulting roles in the US, Australia, New Zealand, UK and across Asia. He has extensive experience in serving Deloitte’s clients in a senior capacity across many segments of the industry - such as life insurance; wealth management and premium financial services; investment and funds management; superannuation and pensions; and retail banking.

Neal developed his professional career with various financial institutions and service providers within the industry before joining Deloitte 14 years ago.

Prior to moving permanently to the U.S. six years ago, he led our consulting organization’s wealth management & investment management competency area with direct responsibilities spanning the Asia-Pacific region.
