Michael E. Raynor, of Deloitte Consulting LLP, is a Distinguished Fellow with Deloitte Research. He provides consulting services to senior executives in the world’s leading corporations across a wide range of industries, including telecommunications, media and entertainment, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, energy and manufacturing. In his client projects and research, Michael explores the challenges of corporate strategy, innovation and growth.

His first book, "The Innovator’s Solution," co-authored with Professor Clayton M. Christensen, has been on The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times bestseller lists, and won several “Best Book of the Year” awards in 2003. His second book, "The Strategy Paradox," was released by Currency/Doubleday in February 2007. Mumtaz Ahmed

As a principal in the Strategy and Operations service area of Deloitte Consulting LLP (Deloitte Consulting), Mumtaz Ahmed helps companies recognize and understand the dynamics of industry evolution and the implications of key trends on business strategies. As an engineer and accountant, he is keenly interested in modeling the economics of supply and demand, and how changes in customer behavior, policies and regulations, and the performance of alternate technologies affects the competitive equilibrium in product, segment and geographic markets. 

As the Chief Strategy Officer for Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, Mumtaz is responsible for informing the global executive and board of directors about changes in the business and competitive environment for the Deloitte member firms, formulating course corrections and assessing the extent to which performance outcomes match the goals and targets established for client segments, service areas and geographic markets. He works with the executive team to identify investment priorities and allocate funds to strategic markets as well as key client and service development initiatives.  View his full profile.

 

Dr. Andrew D. Henderson

Dr. Andrew D. Henderson
Associate Professor of Strategic Management, McCombs School of Business
Dr. Andrew D. Henderson is an associate professor of strategic management in the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas (UT) at Austin. He joined the management department at UT in 1999. Prior to that, he was a professor in the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University. At UT, he teaches strategic management in the BBA, MBA, and Executive MBA programs. As graduate advisor, he heads the Management Department’s Ph.D. program. Andrew's research focuses on the evolution of organizations and industries in the face of technological change, sustained competitive advantage, executive decision processes and executive compensation.

Andrew is active in both the Academy of Management and the Strategic Management Society. In 2006, the Academy of Management recognized Andrew's research contributions by naming him a member of its Research Committee for the Business Policy and Strategy Division, which judges best paper and best dissertation competitions within the Academy of Management. Prior to entering academia, Professor Henderson worked for a top technology firm, where he won several major corporate awards for outstanding technical contributions. Andrew is a frequent speaker at professional conferences in the area of strategic management and has published a variety of articles in the management field’s top research journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, Administrative Science Quarterly, and the Strategic Management Journal.
