Meet Michael Hercz

Director, Deloitte & Touche LLP

Michael Hercz, a director in Deloitte & Touche LLP’s Governance, Regulatory and Risk Strategies practice, has more than 16 years of experience in the life sciences and healthcare industries in the areas of compliance, risk management, corporate governance and pharmaceutical sales and marketing. Michael specializes in assisting life sciences and healthcare companies address a wide variety of regulatory and compliance challenges and frequently helps clients build, assess, and enhance their compliance programs.

Prior to joining Deloitte, Michael served in various leading roles for major pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. In these capacities, he designed and implemented both first and second generation corporate compliance programs. Additionally, he established and led the enterprise risk management function of a major biopharma company. Prior to working in the industry, he advised a wide range of life sciences and health care clients as an attorney at a global law firm.

Michael frequently presents at leading conferences on topics ranging from creating effective compliance programs to government enforcement trends. Michael served as featured faculty at the 13th and 14th Annual PCF Pharmaceutical Regulatory and Compliance Congresses and served as distinguished speaker for the Center for Business Intelligence (CBI’s) 2011 and 2012 Forums on the Sunshine Act, State Laws and Aggregate Spend.

A resident of San Clemente, California, Michael is a member of the California Bar and District of Columbia Bar and received his law degree from the University of Southern California (J.D.) and his undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania (B.A.).
