Michael Chung is a director in Deloitte & Touche LLP’s Governance, Regulatory and Risk Strategies practice and leads the organization's Investment Adviser Governance and Oversight services in the central region. He has more than 15 years of experience in asset management.
Michael specializes in providing regulatory compliance, operations, internal controls, and business advisory services to investment advisers, investment companies, hedge funds, private equity firms, endowments, foundations, and pension plans.
Michael has performed regulatory compliance assessments of investment advisers and hedge fund managers; assisted in developing compliance policies and procedures; assessed compliance programs and internal controls; developed risk frameworks; conducted business process and operational efficiency analysis; and performed data reconstruction and damage calculations. In addition, he has participated on engagements in response to regulatory settlement orders.
While attending law school, Michael served internships with the Enforcement Division of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Securities Division of the Massachusetts Office of the Secretary of State, and the Listings Department of the Boston Stock Exchange.
Michael earned a B.A. from Boston University, an MBA from Bentley College Graduate School of Business and a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School.
