Partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP
Andy has over 20 years experience serving finance organizations in both consultative and assurance roles.
He primarily focuses on helping companies enhance their accounting and reporting processes that may not be well-supported by technology. These areas may involve complexity in how to interpret and apply accounting standards and they are often supported by manual, spreadsheet-based processes. Given the recent evolution of configurable technology, Deloitte believes there are opportunities to create better processes and automation through the use of accounting rules engines. In order to do this, a direct link needs to be established between understanding accounting requirements (e.g. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and designing processes and configuring technology to support such accounting requirements, with the goal of replacing spreadsheets with more robust technology. Examples of complex accounting processes include, but are not limited to: accounting for revenue recognition, derivatives, hedging, fair value measurement, leasing, impairment and other industry-specific areas.
During his career, Andy has primarily focused on the energy and resources industry, with other significant experiences working with financial services and consumer and industrial products companies. In addition to working broadly with accounting and reporting groups, Andy has a deep understanding of the transacting/hedging strategies employed in these industries and the related challenges of processing, accounting and reporting these transactions. These unique experiences allow Andy to be practical and solutions-based when serving clients, while being very cognizant of industry leading practices and a company’s compliance requirements.
Andy has a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Villanova University and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in New Jersey and New York. He is based in New Jersey.
