Paul has over 27 years of professional experience in the financial services, regulatory compliance, internal audit, and risk management fields, serving both audit and relationship clients in the financial services industry (FSI). Paul started his career with Deloitte and provided external audit services to FSI clients until 1992. He then spent 10 years with two large financial institutions on the West Coast, culminating in his role as California Federal Bank’s senior vice president, director of audit and regulatory risk management.
In 2003, Paul returned to Deloitte as a partner to focus exclusively on FSI risk services. Paul leads our FSI Internal Audit practice in the U.S., and he is the Global FSI Internal Audit Service Line leader. Paul has also achieved Level III of Deloitte’s Industry Proficiency Program in the Banking & Securities sector. This designation acknowledges his development of deep sector specific knowledge, experience, and eminence.
Paul is a member of the Michigan State University, The Eli Broad College of Business Alumni Association Board of Directors. He received his BA in accounting from Michigan State University and is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School of the University of Washington. Paul is a certified public accountant in Michigan and California, a certified bank auditor, and a certified risk professional.
