Robert J. "Bob" Kueppers is deputy chief executive officer (CEO) of Deloitte LLP and has 30 years of professional experience. In this capacity he works closely with the CEO of Deloitte LLP, and he is responsible for Regulatory & Public Policy matters. He is also a vice chairman of Deloitte LLP.
Bob previously served as the senior technical partner with Deloitte & Touche LLP in its National Office in Wilton, Connecticut. Prior to that, he was in charge of the professional practice group, served as the national director of Securites and Exchange Commission (SEC) Services and served as the national director of Independence.
From 1984 to 1986 Bob was a Professional Accounting Fellow in the office of the chief accountant at the SEC in Washington, D.C. Accounting Fellows work extensively with registrants and their accountants on unique accounting issues, are involved in SEC rulemaking projects and participate in the oversight of the accounting profession.
Bob began his career with Deloitte & Touche in Minneapolis, after graduating from the University of Minnesota in 1976.
Bob is active in issues affecting the profession and a frequent speaker and writer on these topics. He also is chairman of the SEC Historical Society in Washington, D.C., and a member of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board's Standing Advisory Group.
