Enterprise Application Integrity

Securing technology, managing the cost of controls and compliance

As organizations rely more heavily on enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and other information and communications technologies, risks around data accuracy and security escalate rapidly. Some stem from the expanded use of existing ERP systems, while some are introduced through application and systems integration from mergers or other activities. Without proper controls in place, sensitive data is at heightened risk—increasing the potential for fraud, as well as privacy and compliance violations.

The Deloitte Enterprise Application Integrity (EAI) team brings specialized skills and experience to help organizations implement the internal controls needed to overcome these ERP challenges. This includes:

  • In-depth understanding of Segregation of Duty (SoD) requirements and technologies, leading practices, and the current regulatory environment
  • Deep experience with ERP-specific controls functionality
  • Practical knowledge of governance and compliance issues, which can be applied to support effective coordination and integration with internal and external auditors
  • Access to global tax, consulting, and financial advisory resources for an added source of specialization that can further boost the effectiveness of internal ERP controls

Deloitte also designs and implements governance, risk and compliance (GRC) solutions to assist with the ongoing compliance of these systems. We help clients take an integrated approach to GRC, essential to breaking down functional, process, and technology silos and achieving better recognition, understanding, and prioritization of risks. User provisioning and managing access to, and overall security of, various applications are the cornerstone of an effective GRC program.  We can assist in fulfilling the myriad regulatory, legal, and contractual requirements in support of defined business objectives.

We are helping organizations in their efforts to design, implement, and integrate GRC into core business processes — to help them protect and enhance the value of their companies, while balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders.
