Meet Stephen (Steve) Curry

Partner, Internal Audit Transformation, Deloitte & Touche LLP – Life Sciences and Health Care

Steve is a partner in Deloitte & Touche LLP’s Internal Audit Transformation practice and our national leader for life sciences and health care industries. In that role, Steve focuses on understanding the strategies, trends, regulatory developments and risks that are affecting these industries and then translating that knowledge into a risk-intelligent, industry-specific internal audit strategy for clients and prospective clients. With this focus, Steve has consistently demonstrated to clients that internal audit is a contributor to an organization’s strategic success and a driver of operational excellence.

For more than 25 years, Steve has served life sciences and health care companies, from health care providers and insurers to pharmaceutical/biotech companies. He has served both as the chief audit executive and as a cosourcing partner, leading our teams as we help transform our clients’ internal audit functions. Steve has experience with risk assessment methodology and enterprise-wide risk management implementations. He has also helped clients evaluate and improve internal controls, including large-scale projects focused on the implementation of the provisions of Section 404 of Sarbanes-Oxley. Additionally, Steve has led and participated in numerous special projects related to health care regulatory compliance matters, and he served as an expert witness in two substantial, well-known Medicare fraud and abuse cases.

Steve is a certified public accountant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He graduated from Babson College with a degree in accounting and communications.
