A partner in the Houston office, Janine Koch leads the national oil and gas internal audit practice for Deloitte’s Audit and Enterprise Risk Services. Janine has more than 24 years of experience in financial and operational audits. She also has experience in Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance in the oil and gas industry. Janine specializes in enterprise risk management and risk and controls as well.
Janine has led outsourcing and cosourcing engagements for a number of clients, including a large maritime organization, a mid-sized petrochemical company, a mid-sized drilling company, a large petroleum and mining company, and a mid-sized exploration and production company. As part of these engagements, Janine led the global risk assessment process; assisted in the development of data analytics to evaluate global locations; helped clients comply with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the United Kingdom’s Bribery Act 2010; and assisted with corporate, SOX and information technology testing. For a large pipeline company, Janine led training for a 60-person internal audit team, educating participants on leading internal audit practices, and she managed a project to assess costs and assist with insurance filings for a large oil spill.
Janine earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business management from Loyola College. She is a certified public accountant in Texas and Massachusetts. She is also a member of the Texas Society of Public Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Institute of Internal Auditors, and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
