John is a Partner in Deloitte & Touche’s Security & Privacy Services practice where he leads the Information & Technology Risk Management practice. John has over 28 years of experience in information technology, information security, data privacy and protection, business continuity and risk/compliance program governance.
He began his career in the telecommunications industry including a variety of roles in Information Technology, Information Security and Internal Audit. John founded the Information Security Consulting Practice at a leading consulting, technology services & outsourcing company and was the global leader of that practice for six years. He has been with Deloitte & Touche for nine years, and prior to his current national leadership role, served as the Midwest Security and Privacy Practice Leader for six years.
John has a bachelor degree in Computer Science and Accounting from Northern Illinois University and a Masters Degree in Computer Science Telecommunications from DePaul. He holds several industry certifications including Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Certified Information Privacy Professional, Certified Information Systems Auditor and Certified Public Accountant (Illinois).
