Thomas Kaylor

Thomas Kaylor is a principal and the National Financial Services Industry leader in the Valuation Services Practice of Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP. Thomas has nearly 20 years of experience providing valuation, merger & acquisition and financial and strategic analyses within the financial services arena. He has significant experience serving financial services firms including advising and performing analyses for commercial banks, mortgage banks, consumer finance companies including credit card, student loan, as well as auto finance and merchant acquiring and processing companies.

Thomas has led global projects involving numerous international locations and assets for some of the largest commercial bank acquisitions over the past 15 years.

Prior to joining Deloitte, Thomas served as the Head of the Mergers & Acquisitions group for a top 10 U.S.-based commercial bank. Under his leadership the bank completed numerous acquisitions and divestitures within the subprime mortgage, commercial banking, leasing and merchant processing industry sub-sectors (including the sale of subprime mortgage loans and student loans) and also received the Association for Corporate Growth’s “Deal Maker of the Year” award.

Thomas was also a valuation partner at a then Big Six accounting firm, and most recently covered the financial services space as a sell-side research analyst for an institutional focused investment bank covering various companies within the mortgage, consumer finance and retail brokerage arena.

Thomas has made technical presentations to the ABA, FDIC and OTS relating to various valuation issues. In addition, he has provided expert testimony on cases within the thrift and asset management industry sub-sectors.

He recieved his bachelor's degree in economics at the  University of Michigan and his Master of Business Administration in Finance degree at Michigan State University.
