Kyle Tanger is a Director with Deloitte Consulting LLP who is responsible for the ClearCarbon By Deloitte service offering. Prior to Deloitte Consulting, Mr. Tanger was the founder and CEO of ClearCarbon. He brings significant carbon and energy experience, having provided consulting services associated with the complex carbon management efforts of several Fortune 500 companies with combined Green House Gas (GHG) emissions totaling more than 200 million tons. Mr. Tanger served as an experienced peer reviewer for the World Resources Institute and World Business Council for Sustainable Development’s (WRI/WBCSD) GHG Protocol, considered the “gold standard” for corporate GHG accounting. Mr. Tanger also served as an advisory board member for the Pew Center for Global Climate Change’s new report on corporate energy efficiency strategy. The report will detail the energy efficiency strategies of more than 100 leading companies as well as analysis of the results. This exposure has provided Mr. Tanger with additional insights into the detailed mechanisms for effective energy management to complement his and ClearCarbon By Deloitte’s extensive direct experience.
Mr. Tanger is a frequent presenter at carbon and energy management conferences, presenting at dozens of events, and was selected as a Table Facilitator for the 2008 Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting’s Energy and Climate Focus Area. Throughout his career, he has worked to create tools that measure financial performance of sustainability initiatives and plays central roles to some of the most impactful corporate sustainability initiatives today. He also has significant information and energy management experience integrating emissions and energy data sources, and creating web-enabled management and analytical tools. Mr. Tanger led supply chain carbon footprint analyses for a big box retailer’s carbon scorecard efforts in conjunction with the Carbon Disclosure Project and has performed numerous carbon footprint analyses for individual consumer products.
