This Federal agency is one of the world’s largest medical research centers and at the forefront of medical and behavioral research for the United States. This agency has teamed with Deloitte for more than 15 years to meet its complex (BI) needs. Over the last decade, Deloitte helped this agency in its efforts to modernize its reporting infrastructure through an enterprise-wide reporting, dashboarding, and ad hoc analysis solution.

Deloitte’s solutions and approach are aimed at integrating key operational information into one seamless reporting management environment. Solution components include analytics and reporting, online analytical processing, and dashboards. The solution also incorporates quality control checks and balances at each step to help confirm a positive user experience.
The team employs the Deloitte Enterprise Information Management (EIM) methodology designed to provide the agency with an analytics framework that encompasses a leading suite of software and hardware products from industry-leading vendors. The approach is business-driven and encompasses various aspects of software engineering and management, including strategy and visioning, requirements management, project management, change management, communications, risk management, support and maintenance, user training, and special events. Deloitte’s EIM solution is designed to offer a unified enterprise analytics platform that can support the agency’s reporting needs into the future with capabilities, such as metadata management, master data management, data quality management, key performance indicators, and dashboards.
Already reaping the benefits of the data warehouse, the agency’s team earned a Level 3 rating on the Software Engineering Institute’s Capability Maturity Model. The agency is eying a healthy return from advanced analytics as well. To date, Deloitte has managed more than 6,000 registered data warehouse users who access various analytics applications. Already the agency has realized deeper analytics on more than 16 business areas, including federal accounting, human resources, asset management, federal travel, technology transfer, property management, and procurement.
